Phantom scripting is an application that hides the "Meta" information of pages from users while at the same time, allowing the major search engines access to this vital information in order to register a site. The special coding instructions within this application knows "who" is trying to look at this important information and will allow or disallow based on certain criteria. The intention of this technology is to provide businesses with full security against those who would seek to steal valuable source codes.
Phantom scripting operates by identifying the IP address of a "surfer". If that address matches the IP address of one of the top search engines, the Meta information is presented. If it does not recognize the IP address, this information is hidden.
Google now defines cloaking technology as a form of spamming, and we no longer recommend its application to our clients. There are many other forms of spamming, and all can result in removal of an offending web site from the search engine index.
