Confused?Find The Best Backup Sump Pump For Your Basement: |
The Basementsaver WP-Series and the Basementsaver HP-Series are both comprised of 3 extremely powerful, ultra-reliable, emergency backup sump pump models, each powered by city water flow. Instead of using electrical power, these water powered sump pumps rely on the force of flowing city water to suck unwanted water out of your basement sump pit. There is no battery to maintain or periodically replace.
Each Basementsaver Water Powered Sump Pump is a self-contained independent system from your primary basement sump pump. Each lightweight pump unit is easily installed above your sump pit on, a basement ceiling rafter, remaining safe from corrosion and inadvertent damage. When properly installed, your Basementsaver water powered sump pump is virtually unbreakable in normal use as an emergency backup pump.
Basementsaver WP-Series water powered backup sump pumps operate using
Normal Pressure municipal water supplies (with pressure in the range 40-100psi).
There are 3 Basementsaver water powered emergency pump capacities to choose from: WP1 & HP1 (residential), WP2 & HP2 (large residential), and WP3 & HP3 (commercial).
Gallons of Sump Water Removed/Hour From Your Sump
| Model | Inlet Size | Min Flow At Inlet | Max Pump Rate | Buy WP | Buy HP |
| WP1/HP1 | 1/2 or 3/4 in | 420 gph / 7 gpm | 900 gph | $299.00 | $369.00 |
| WP2/HP2 | 3/4 in | 600 gph / 10 gpm | 1,400 gph | $359.00 | $429.00 |
| WP3/HP3 | 3/4 or 1 in | 900 gph / 15 gpm | 2,000 gph | $469.00 | $539.00 |
Advanced design & engineering removes more water per hour than other water powered backup sump pumps, even out-pumping battery powered emergency pumping systems in long-term operation. Each Basementsaver WP / HP backup pump achieves such extremely high efficiency that every gallon of city water flow can actually remove up to 2 gallons of water from your basement sump pit (based on a 10 ft lift to discharge)!
Basementsaver WP & HP Water Powered Backup Sump Pump FeaturesEach Basementsaver WP / HP emergency pumping system represents the most advanced water powered backup sump pump technology currently available: - Easy-Installation Instructions For WP-Series Backup Pumps - Easy-Installation Instructions For HP-Series Backup Pumps |
Basementsaver WP-Series water powered backup pumps operate using municipal water supplies with continuous water pressures in the range 40-100psi.
Basementsaver HP-Series water powered backup pumps operate using municipal water supplies with continuous water pressures in the range 75-150psi.
Your household water pressure will typically be in the range 40 - 100psi. To determine your water pressure you should be able to purchase a hose spigot water pressure gauge (typically for about $10 at your local hardware store).
Inlet pressures less than the pumps recommended lowest limit decrease pumping efficiency so that pumping ceases completely at 30 psi for WP models, or at 70 psi for HP models.
Exceeding 100psi will damage Your WP-Series pump valve and void the warranty, so in this case you will either need to install a 'pressure regulating valve' upstream of the WP pump unit or purchase an HP-Series water powered backup pump (rated to 150psi) instead.
HP-Series water powered backup pump models are designed for operation with city water pressures in the range 75-150psi. If your water pressure continuously exceeds 100psi we recommend that you purchase an HP-Series pump.
Step 1 - Measure Your Water Flow Rate
Define your household flow rate by measuring the time to fill a 5 gallon bucket from a hose spigot. Requirements are:
Step 2 - Measure Your Water Pipe At The Water Meter Outlet
Avoid restrictions and run your Basementsaver pump inlet pipe directly from a water meter outlet pipe of the required minimum diameter (most often copper pipe is used, but you may also be able to use PVC, CPVC, PEX... plastic piping, according to the specific local plumbing code in Your area). By convention, water pipes are always specified by internal diameter measurements. Required pipe (internal) diameters are:
Step 3 - Select Your Optimum WP / HP Model
Use the specification table above to select the optimum WP / HP model water powered backup sump pump for Your specific application, based on your required maximum pumping capacity and available water flow.
Extended Backflow Prevention To Protect Your City Water Supply
Basementsaver WP-Series & HP-Series water powered backup pumps are inherently designed to minimize the possibility of backflow to your potable water supply under normal operating conditions. However, some local plumbing codes may also require a separate 'approved' backflow prevention device. To determine whether an additional 'approved' backflow prevention device is required in your specific area contact your local plumbing inspector.
Basementsaver WPA-Series & HPA-Series water powered sump pumps feature an integrated 'Approved' Atmospheric Vacuum Breaker (AVB) backflow prevention device.
WPA & HPA 'Approved' Backflow Prevention Water Powered Sump Pump Details
Alternatively, You may purchase a separate 'approved' backflow protection device locally and install it downstream of a WP-Series or HP-Series pump unit, but it is important that you check the water flow rate through the device to ensure that it does not cause an unacceptable restriction and follow all WPA/HPA AVB installation guidelines.
